Welcome to PathwayPro – the innovative program designed by immigrants for immigrants, specifically tailored to leverage the highly-skilled immigrant talent pool to bridge the senior talent shortage in Alberta's tech ecosystem.
We understand that you, as an immigrant tech professional, face unique challenges, and that's why we've designed PathwayPro with data-driven insights to address them head-on.
As part of our program, you will have an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience by working on real software development projects for Alberta tech companies.
PathwayPro is a part-time, online program that lets you balance your personal and professional commitments while gaining hands-on industry experience. You'll work in a scrum team under the oversight of senior mentors, building a portfolio that showcases your skills and expertise.
There’s more! PathwayPro also helps you develop essential competencies to stay future-ready and adaptable in the ever-evolving world of technology. You'll also have a personal coach who will work with you as you unwrap your uniqueness and break negative mental models holding you back.

PathwayPro runs for 13 weeks.
Is this program open to all newcomers, regardless of their background or country of origin?
All newcomers (within 5 years) who reside in Alberta, with Software Development background are eligible to apply for this program.
What kind of work experience will I gain through this program?
Students who complete this program will have a portfolio to share with potential employers that highlights their work experience with recognizable Alberta Tech companies.
Will I receive a certificate upon completion of the program?
You will receive a letter of reference highlighting your experience building software products.
Are there any fees associated with this program?
There are no fees associated with this program. Eligible participants will participate free of charge.
What kind of support and resources will be provided during the program?
Participants will have access to senior industry mentors, Interaction with employers, 1:1 Career mapping and coaching, as well as future of work readiness competencies.
Can I apply for this program if I am currently studying in a post-secondary institution?
You have to be legally allowed to work in Alberta and be readily available for full-time employment to qualify for PathwayPro. You will also need to be able to commit to the time requirement of 12 hours per week.
What kind of career opportunities can I expect after completing the PathwayPro program?
While there are no guarantees that all participants will gain employment after the program, PathwayPro offers opportunities to interact and build a network with Alberta tech companies.
